What We Do



Our custom crafted tires have been prominently displayed at major auto shows, specifically designed to fit and enhance the manufacturers “concept” vehicles. Proto Tyre works hand-in-hand with tire and auto designers to furnish these state-of-the-art prototypes, with a unique and dramatic tread design to match the “theme” of the vehicle. We have been consistently called upon throughout the past decade to help make the concept  a reality. Tire manufactures furnish the schematics and a “slick” tire (no tread) and Proto Tyre will hand carve the design to replicate a production molded tire.  

Yet the core foundation of our company is our unmatched expertise in the carving of test tires and the modification of existing production tires.

  Test Tires 

Tire manufacturers obviously would like to cut the bottom line on research costs. Think about what kind of cash outlay is involved in the tread mold design for a test tire! Proto Tyre “cuts” to the chase here, so to speak! We hand carve our product from smooth, molded tires supplied by the manufacturer, and the end result is an accurate prototype suitable for any and all testing rigors.

Tire Modification 

This process has developed into a crucial part of our business. The modification of existing production (original equipment) tires is an industry niche that seems to be booming. Believe it or not, there are modifications and/or enhancements to the original tread design that may dramatically improve the performance of an OE tire. The widening or deepening of an existing groove (regrooving), or even the placement of a groove where none previously existed often solves a specific tread design issue.
